
<html><head><meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"></head><body style="word-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; line-break: after-white-space;" class=""><div class=""></div><div class="">—</div><div class=""><div style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; font-family: Arial; min-height: 14px;" class=""><br class=""></div><div style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 10.5px; line-height: normal; font-family: Arial;" class=""><span style="font-stretch: normal; font-size: 12px; line-height: normal;" class=""> </span><i class="">Call for Papers, NKG 2023, Halle (Saale) </i></div><div style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 10.5px; line-height: normal; font-family: Arial;" class=""><b class="">„Im Bilde sein“? Zur Rolle und Bedeutung von Visualisierungen für das Verständnis unserer gegenwärtigen Welt </b></div><div style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 10.5px; line-height: normal; font-family: Arial;" class="">Sitzungsorganisation: Kristine Beurskens, Nora Küttel, Boris Michel, Judith Miggelbrink und Antje Schlottmann </div><div style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 10.5px; line-height: normal; font-family: Arial;" class=""><br class=""></div><div style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 10.5px; line-height: normal; font-family: Arial;" class="">Die Geographie kann nicht nur auf eine lange Geschichte visueller Methoden verweisen - von Beobachtung und Kartierung bis zu Fotografien. Nach einer Phase des eher distanzierten Verhältnisses zu Visualität in der Neuen Kulturgeographie ist in den letzten Jahren ein erneutes und vielfältiges theoretisches und praktisches Interesse an visueller Kommunikation und dem Einsatz von Visualisierungen in der Forschung entstanden. Gleichzeitig rückten in den vergangenen Jahren eine Vielzahl von politischen Entwicklungen, Krisen und Konflikten und deren Einfluss auf das alltägliche Leben in den Fokus geographischer Forschung. Damit verbunden entsteht ein Interesse an der medialen Berichterstattung über Krisen und Konflikte, die häufig mit dramatischen Bildern und Darstellungen über Affekte und Emotionen agiert. Das "Netzwerk Visualisierung qualitativer Geographien" organisiert vor dem Hintergrund dieser Entwicklungen im Rahmen der <i class="">Tagung Neue Kulturgeographie 2023 </i>eine Sitzung, die sich mit aktuellen Diskussionen um die Rolle und Möglichkeiten visueller Methoden und visueller Kommunikation geographischer Forschung beschäftigt. Gerade in der Visualisierung qualitativer Geographien sehen wir ein großes Potential, gesellschaftliche Ereignisse wie Krisen nicht nur global zu verstehen, sondern über mehrere Skalen hinweg bis hin zu ihren subjektiven, lokalen, alltäglichen und verkörperten Ausprägungen zu vermitteln. Gleichzeitig gilt es unseres Erachtens heute umso mehr, Visualisierungen und durch sie erzeugte Sicht- und Unsichtbarkeiten hinsichtlich ihrer Rolle und Bedeutung für das Verständnis unserer gegenwärtigen Welt kritisch zu beobachten.</div><div style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 10.5px; line-height: normal; font-family: Arial;" class=""><br class=""></div><div style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 10.5px; line-height: normal; font-family: Arial;" class="">Die Sitzung soll einerseits ein offenes Forum bieten, um aktuelle Fragen visueller Geographien zu diskutieren. Wir interessieren uns u.a. für neue, kreative Methoden der Visualisierung, dafür, wie Methoden der Visualisierung in Forschungsprozessen eingesetzt werden und für die kritische Reflexion von humangeographischen Visualisierungen. Darüber hinaus - und anschließend an das Rahmenthema Tagung - interessieren uns insbesondere Fragen nach den Potentialen visueller Kommunikation in Bezug auf Krisen und Konflikte (von der Ebene des <i class="">intimate </i>bis zur globalen sowie deren Verschneidung) von ihrer Erforschung bis zur Kommunikation innerhalb und über die Wissenschaft hinaus. </div><div style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 10.5px; line-height: normal; font-family: Arial;" class=""><br class=""></div><div style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 10.5px; line-height: normal; font-family: Arial;" class="">Für den Austausch zu diesen Fragen suchen wir nach Beitragsvorschlägen und bitten um Einreichungen der Abstracts von 200-300 Wörtern bis zum 30.09.2022 an <span style="color: #0000ff" class=""><a href="mailto:judith.miggelbrink@tu-dresden.de" class="">judith.miggelbrink@tu-dresden.de</a></span>, Rückfragen gerne an Nora Küttel, Boris Michel, Antje Schlottmann oder Kristine Beurskens. </div></div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class=""><div class="">
