Make the invisible visible. Turn the map upside down, inside out, tear it apart, cut it, reassemble it, weave new territories, connect distant bodies and places, re-imagine the world otherwise. In the second mLAB Symposium, we will open up the space for conversations
between art, activism, cartography, and geography asking: How can quantitative and qualitative data complement each other on the same map and thus produce new forms, representations, materialities, and affects? What are the possibilities for mapping the entanglements
of global, large-scale, quantitative data with intimate, subjective, qualitative data to tell other stories of the world? What challenges arise when we produce, creative, and politicize maps in transdisciplinary fashion?<br class="">

These are guiding questions we have asked our renowned speakers in the field of geography, art and design. We start with a roundtable discussion that asks the question how maps can tell other stories of the world? <font color="#4349ff" class="">IMPULSE LECTURES</font> from <b class="">Lize
Mogel </b>(artist, educator, counter-cartographer, “An Atlas of Radical Cartography”), <b class="">Joni Seager</b> (Bentley University, “Atlas of Women”), <b class="">Élise Olmedo </b>and<b class=""> Sébastian Caquard</b> (both Concordia University Montreal,
“Cartographie Sensible”), <b class="">Theo Deutinger</b> (architect, writer, designer “Handbook of Tyranny”) and <b class="">Isabelle Bentz</b> (Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts) will discuss forms of visualization at the intersection of arts,
geography and journalistic work. <b class="">Kollektiv Orangotango</b> will reflect on the diversity of counter-cartographic methodologies with mappers from Europe and Latin America.
<font color="#4349ff" class="">WORKSHOPS</font> engage with different methods to map time (Theo Deutinger), the body (Katharina Schmidt) and creative geographies (Katrin Singer).
