Dear EGSC members,

We are very happy to share with you a new special issue of /Geography 
Research Forum /(Vol 39, 1) on "queer urban movements from the 
margin(s): activism, politics, space" we have been edited as a 
guest-editors. The papers in the special issue discuss LGBT activism 
from diverse perspectives, contributing to the growing scholarship on 
geographies of sexualities. Our perspective on activism comes from the 
urban margins – the periphery, the socio-cultural margins, the suburban, 
the political margins or marginality within LGBT and queer communities. 
The issue includes papers by Iris Rachamimov on the lesbian and trans 
history of Jerusalem; Julie Podomore and Alison Bain on the activism in 
the Canadian suburbs; Sivan Rajuan Shtang on queer movements and the 
Zionist body; Niharika Banerjea on belonging and queer feminism in 
Delhi; Ozlem Atalay and Perta Doan on LGBT movements in Istanbul; Avner 
Rogel on the time-space of the Queerhana festivals; and a viewpoint by 
Maria Rodó-Zárate on intersectionality and queer urban activism in 
Barcelona.
